Are You Wearing An Ornament of Grace?

“Do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion; they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck.” Proverbs 3:21–22

Every day we are faced with decisions, some are small, less meaningful decisions like what we should eat for breakfast, some are a little more meaningful like should you switch jobs, and some are just downright brutal like how do we cope with a failing marriage or health issues BUT no matter what decisions we may be facing today, God wants to equip + empower us to make the right choices. This verse tells us that seeking wisdom and discretion brings life, “an ornament to grace your neck.” How do we seek wisdom and discretion? By making the Word of God a priority in our lives. The answer to every single decision + situation we face is addressed in God’s Word either directly or by principle. When God’s Word is the final authority in our life, His grace will empower us to live victoriously. His grace will be sufficient for us in every way, everyday

FYI: Verses 23 – 26 goes on to say, “Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble. When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the LORD will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared.” How encouraging is this!

So, we need to encourage others as well as ourselves to put God’s Word first, to ask the Holy Spirit to guide us as we read + study His word AND as we follow His commands these things will open the way for His grace to cover us. WE need to learn to let His grace empower us to dwell in safety and rest securely in Him, all of our days!

Father God, thank You for Your Word which is life and health to me. I submit myself to You knowing that You have good things in store for my future and that you will guide all decisions I have to make everyday . I will hide Your word in my heart so that I can receive Your grace and walk in Your ways. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
